Summary and objectives

This project aims to provide adult learners with the necessary strategic competences in order to learn a foreign language and thus become full active citizens who can participate in personal, social and professional situations where speaking a foreign language is required to be integrated into society.

The transnational dimension of the partnership will allow teachers to witness, experience and exchange different teaching transnational methodologies assisting them to create new teaching environments in their own institutions.


This teacher-oriented Grundtvig Partnership has a pragmatic focus:

  • Participating teachers will devise and share strategies for effective foreign language teaching
  • Participating learners will provide feedback on the teachers' assumptions and teaching strategies

Tangible products of STRATLANG project include the following

  • A guidebook for students summarizing useful tips for learning foreing languages
  • A guidebook for teachers on incorporating foreing language in courses for lower level students
  • A collection of classroom activities aiming at the development of cultural awareness

Learning a foreign language has become vital to ensure personal, social and professional success and is a key element central to integration.
